WHAT IS YOGA?
Yoga is a physical and mental practice where you use all parts of your body and mind to gain strength and flexibility. Through our yoga classes you will learn physical exercises as well as breathing techniques, relaxations and meditations. These are all designed to gain a greater understanding of how far your body and mind can reach.
The yoga we teach is not part of a religious practice and is open for all.
Yoga is a tradition that started about 5-6000 years ago in India. To begin with yoga was a practice or method to raise ones awareness and spiritual awakening. The physical exercises was a preparation to make the body strong and flexible enough to sitt for long periods in meditation. Today the physical exercises are used to increase health and well being. The span of classical yoga today makes it possible to reach all requirements, whether you want to get a better health or to find peace within yourself and your life. The yoga we practice here is a classical form derived from the Tantric tradition.
